Charles & Ray Eames, 1945.

Charles and Ray Eames spent many years experimenting with new processes for optimizing the way three-dimensionally moulded plywood fits the contours of the body. Today, LCW, with its moulded plywood seat, backrest and base, is once again available with a hide cover, as was the case when it was launched in 1946. Moulded ash plywood; the seat and backrest sections connected to the base by means of rubber/metal elements (shock mounts).
