Charles & Ray Eames, 1949
In 1949, Charles and Ray Eames developed a new system of free-standing multifunctional shelves which - similar to the Eames House that dates from the same time - were constructed strictly in keeping with the principles of industrial mass production: the Eames Storage Units (ESU).
The ESU Shelf by Charles and Ray Eames comes in various heights: from a low sideboard to a tall, spacious bookshelf. The ESU Shelf is somewhat wider than the ESU Bookcase, which is fitted with sliding doors and drawers. The coloured panels of both units are carefully coordinated and match the EDU Desk.
