Ligne Roset’s Ploum sofa is the result of extensive research into comfort. Combining two special materials which, when associated with the unique shape of the Ploum sofa, offers an extremely high level of comfort whilst giving the body the chance to adopt a number of postures. The large sofa, which may seat up to 4 people, has a slightly closed angle to encourage sitters to face one another and engage in conversation. A truly unique, contemporary design sofa. “We envisaged it as a ripe fruit” say celebrated French design duo Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec of Ploum. And to plump out the image of this revolutionary, ultra-comfortable settee still further, they add the description voluptuous. Constructed from steel tubing, wire and mesh, Ploum has an integral seat and integral back varying densities of Bultex foam and hyperflexible polyurethane foam, with the comfort further reinforced by the double-layer quilted woven covering fabric, which is quilted by points of stitching. Its cover may be removed by an upholsterer.
