The Vitra Eames Wool Blanket is a beautiful example of how Charles and Ray Eames brought their distinctive approach to colour and pattern into textiles. Designed in 1947, its graphic Dot Pattern was originally created for an exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and draws inspiration from Ray Eames’ abstract artwork. Woven in a jacquard construction, the pattern is reversed on the front and back, giving the blanket two subtly different looks.
Working with premium natural fibres requires considerable technical know-how and manual skill. For this reason, Vitra blankets are made by a German blanket manufacturer with over 100 years of experience in fabricating products from natural fibres. Their expert hand craftsmanship ensures the high-quality execution of the designs.
